add custom fields to track what your business cares about

every business is different. lawn care wants property size; salons want hair type; consultants want referral source. add custom fields once and every client gets them.

3 steps~2 min
  1. 1

    open dragonfly settings

click the gear icon in dragonfly, then "custom fields". you'll see the existing custom fields (none on first visit) and an "add field" button.

  2. 2

    add a field

name it ("property size", "preferred stylist"), pick the type (text, number, dropdown, date), and save. for dropdowns, type the options.

  3. 3

fill it in on client profiles

every existing client now has the new field on their profile, empty by default. fill it in as you go — there's no requirement to backfill all at once.

    tip

use dropdown fields for anything you'll want to filter or report on later ("service tier": basic / premium / vip). text fields are great for free-form notes but you can't filter by them.
