archive a client (instead of deleting)

dragonfly doesn't actually delete contacts — it archives them. archived contacts stay in the database (so their invoices, jobs, and history don't break), they just disappear from the active list.

3 steps~2 min
  1. 1

    archive from the detail sheet

the trash icon in the contact header soft-deletes — same row stays, archived flag flips on.

  2. 2

    see archived contacts

the toolbar's status filter has an "archived" option. switch to it to see every archived client.

  3. 3

restore if you change your mind

open an archived contact and click the restore icon. their lifecycle status comes back as active and they're back in the main list.

    tip

the only way to truly delete a contact is to archive them and then bulk-delete from the archive view — and that's blocked if they have any invoices, jobs, or files. archive is the right answer 99% of the time.
