merge duplicate client records

duplicates sneak in — same person, two emails, two records. dragonfly merges them into one without losing history from either.

3 steps~2 min
  1. 1

    find the duplicates

from dragonfly's clients list, click the "find duplicates" link in the toolbar. dragonfly groups records that share a name or phone or email.

  2. 2

    pick which one to keep

dragonfly shows both records side by side. pick which contact info, tags, and notes to keep — or pick "merge everything" to combine all fields automatically.

  3. 3

    merge

the two records become one. all jobs, invoices, quotes, files, and timeline entries from both records now live on the surviving one. nothing is lost — the merged-away record's data moves over.

    tip

merge is one-way and can't be undone. before clicking merge, double-check it's actually the same person — sometimes father + son or husband + wife share an email or last name. you can also keep both records and just tag one "alternate contact".
