add custom fields to leads

every business asks different questions of a new lead. add fields once and every existing + new lead picks them up. five field types: text, long text, number, date, dropdown.

    open marigold settings

    click the gear icon, then "custom fields." you'll see the existing list (empty on first visit).

    add a field

    name it ("service interest," "project budget," "how did you hear about us"). pick the type. for dropdowns, type the options.

    fill it in on lead profiles

    every lead now has the new field on their detail panel. fill in as you go — there's no backfill requirement. custom fields show as filterable columns in the table.

    tip

    for anything you'll want to filter or report on, use a dropdown. text fields are great for one-off notes but you can't filter cleanly by them.
