a quick map of which roles default to seeing which modules. you can override per-teammate (next article) but the defaults are sensible for most teams.

    owner + admin

    everything. invoices, payouts, payroll, books, compliance, team management.

    manager

    ops + crm + marketing. crawdad, dragonfly, marigold, junebug, mayhaw, hummingbird, mudpuppy, foxfire. no sycamore (books), no pecan (payroll), no oyster (compliance), no cypress.

  3. 3

    staff

    day-to-day work — crawdad jobs, junebug bookings, dragonfly customer info, bobwhite time tracking. no money modules, no team management.

  4. 4

    viewer

    read-only on a curated subset — useful for accountants (sycamore + katydid + pawpaw read-only) and investors (dashboards only).
