team & seats — invite, set roles, control access
articles
- 01
invite your first teammate
instead of sharing a password, give every teammate their own login. they sign in as themselves and only see the apps you give them access to.
4 steps·~3 min - 02
understand the five roles
owner / admin / manager / staff / viewer — each role ships with defaults for which apps a teammate can see and what they can do inside them.
3 steps·~2 min - 03
give a teammate access to specific apps only
roles ship with defaults, but real teams need overrides. your bookkeeper sees sycamore and katydid but not pawpaw payouts. your shop manager sees crawdad but not bluejay.
3 steps·~2 min - 04
change someone's role
promotions, role changes, someone shifting from full-time to a viewer-level accountant role. cypress changes take effect on their next page load.
3 steps·~2 min - 05
remove a teammate
someone leaves the business. archive their seat — their account stays preserved (so the audit trail makes sense), but they lose access immediately.
3 steps·~2 min - 06
use the audit log when something feels off
every invite, role change, and archive lands in the audit log with a timestamp and who did it. useful when access drift sneaks in or you need to retrace a permission change.
3 steps·~2 min - 07
accept an invite (the teammate's side)
when you invite someone, they get an email with a magic link. this article is what they see — share it with them if they're new to wymzy.
3 steps·~2 min - 08
cancel an invite that hasn't been accepted yet
sent an invite by mistake, or the person isn't joining anymore? cancel it before they accept and the link stops working immediately.
3 steps·~2 min - 09
switch between workspaces
if you're a member of more than one business on wymzy (your own + a client you do work for, or two of your own), the workspace switcher in the app header flips between them.
3 steps·~2 min - 10
rename your workspace or update its details
the business name shows on every invoice, every customer email, every portal. if you rebrand or registered the wrong name at signup, owner / admin can edit it.
3 steps·~2 min - 11
what each role can see — by module
a quick map of which roles default to seeing which modules. you can override per-teammate (next article) but the defaults are sensible for most teams.
4 steps·~2 min - 12
per-teammate module overrides
previewthe role defaults work for most teammates, but real teams need overrides — your bookkeeper sees sycamore + katydid but not pawpaw payouts; your shop manager sees crawdad but not bluejay. ships in the next cypress drop.
2 steps·~1 min - 13
what stays when you archive a teammate
archive isn't delete. the teammate keeps their account; only their access to your workspace is revoked. attribution on every action they took (jobs, invoices, notes) stays intact.

how cypress connects to cricket and bobwhite
cypress is the source of truth for who's on your team. cricket (chat) and bobwhite (time tracking) follow it automatically — invite once, they're in everywhere; archive once, they're out.
