post a private vs customer-visible update

the updates tab has a visibility toggle. customer-visible posts show in the customer's yaupon portal. private posts stay just for you (and your team) — useful for build-log notes the customer doesn't need to see.

    click "new update" on the project

    the updates tab.

    write your post, then choose visible to client or not

    default is visible. toggle off to make it private — only visible to you and anyone on the gopher project on your team.

    visible posts trigger an email to the customer letting them know there's a new update. private posts don't.

    tip

    use private updates for things like "glue-up failed, redoing tomorrow" — facts you need a record of, but the customer doesn't need to worry about. once it's resolved, post a clean visible update with the photo.
