retire equipment that's done

when a tool is sold, scrapped, or stolen, retire it instead of deleting. the card stays for history (warranty claims, depreciation, tax) but drops out of crawdad's job-assignment picker.

3 steps~2 min
  1. 1

    open the equipment card

    find the item that's gone.

  2. 2

    set condition to retired

the condition tag is the lever. retired items archive — they don't show in crawdad's picker and they don't show in the active equipment list.

  3. 3

    (optional) add an exit note

in the notes field, write what happened — "sold to bob 2026-04-14 for $800" or "stolen 2026-03-02, police report #ar-12345." future-you will thank you.

    tip

if you genuinely want it gone (typo entry, duplicate), there's a delete button — but for anything that ever existed in real life, retire it. the history is worth keeping.
