what the contractor sees on the public w-9 page

the contractor opens the w-9 link from a phone or computer. no account, no app install. they fill the same fields the paper w-9 asks for, sign with a finger or mouse, and submit.

  1. 1

    they open the link

the page shows your business name as the requester ("please fill out a w-9 for [your business]").

  2. 2

    they fill the form

name (or business name), address, tax classification (individual / sole prop / llc / s-corp / etc.), tin (ssn or ein) — all built into the form.

  3. 3

    they sign and submit

signature pad, name, date. submit. they get a copy by email; you get a copy on the contractor card with the date stamped.

    tip

tin verification (does the tin match irs records?) is part of the partner integration — coming when track1099 / tax1099 wires up. today, sweetgum stores what they typed; the irs match check fires later.
