tortoise's editor handles rich text — headings, bold, lists, links — and is forgiving when you paste content from a google doc or word doc.

use the formatting toolbar
select text and apply bold, italic, headings, or bullet/numbered lists. shortcuts work too (cmd-b, cmd-i, etc.).

paste from a google doc
copy from the doc, paste into tortoise. headings and lists usually carry over cleanly.

fix the formatting if needed
weird formatting from a paste? select the text and use the toolbar to normalize. plain-text paste (cmd-shift-v on most systems) is the cleanest option for messy sources.
