tune the punch count for your margin

10 is the default but it's not the right number for every business. shorter cards reward customers faster but cost you more per redemption; longer cards build more habit but feel out of reach.

    open the program

    pick the program from the toolbar dropdown.

    open program settings

    the gear icon next to the program switcher.

    do the math

    if a coffee costs you $1 in goods and sells for $5, your margin is $4. a 10-punch card gives away $5 to capture $50 of revenue — 10% off. an 8-punch card gives away the same $5 for $40 of revenue — 12.5%. pick what fits your numbers.

    tip

    5 punches is too short — it feels gimmicky. 12+ feels punishing. most service-counter businesses settle on 8–10.
